Ejidal is where Playa del Carmen grew when it ran out of room near the beach, the grid of numbered avenues west of the highway that most of the city actually lives in. Nothing here is walking distance to the sand, and that is the trade: a two bedroom in Ejidal costs a fraction of the same unit in Centro. Plaza Las Américas, Centro Maya and the hospitals are minutes away, and the buyers are as often locals as foreigners. Best for buyers who want the volume of the city at city prices.
